Hey -------, I wrote the original review of Melrose. As a landlord, I'm surprised you manage to stay in business, given that the tenant is always wrong. News flash buddy, it's a buyers market.
The overall rating speaks for itself. A "luxery" apartment complex should not be rated low.
Opinion: in the ghetto

Melrose apartments feel like they were built by Tyco. **Tyco made a fortune!!! (I seem to remember Tyco being in trouble with the SEC and having their executive staff taken to court).
1.) The lights flicker constantly. **This stuff happens, my word!! (this is a sign of pending electrical failure, a ground problem or lose wiring perhaps. It's not a matter of dim lighting, it's a fire hazard. Couple this with faulty fire alarms, you have a potential lawsuit).
2.) my computer's power supply went once in the past 3 months. **Notice it went ONCE..again,these things happen. (these things do happen, once every 3 or so years. This happened within 3 months of original purchase. Again, something I know of).
3)
Doors don't close right. **Make a work order (did that, didn't help, no response. Did a lot of work-orders in my year there, they did manage to fix the dryer after 4 months though).
4) windows leak. **Again make a work order (did that, didn't help, no response).
5) dryers don't work right. **Quit overloading them!! Kids expect to dry 15 pairs of jeans on one (1) cycle!!! (no heat when empty, this is a gas problem or a heating element issue dumbass. After they fixed the dryer, it worked just fine, I must say).
6) and those damn gates never have worked right. **Does it matter' Your all jumped gates and fences anyways acting like wild anilmals!! (when you advertise a 'gated community' the gates should work. Else you are misleading folk with your advertisements, consumer protection laws address this).
7) For a place that is 1 year old, this place is a dump. **Earlier you said a GHETTO...make up your mind! (semantics and wording, eat me).
Lets not forget that we pay almost $400 per person on a 4 bedroom apartment. **This is what slays me the most! You knew this before you signed your lease and you forgot to mention any of the amenities included in the cost of $400 a month for this property' (what amenities' the pool that non-residents always use' the busted equipment in the exercise room')
70% of the people who live here are decent. The other 30% are horrible. **Who are you to pass judgement on who is decent and who is not' Typical kid!! (kid' I'm 30. How old are you')
This place is a frat house with a gate. Parties almost every weekend going on until 4 or 5AM. About every building has one party every weekend. **Call the police! Is there anything in your lease contract that says you can't!' Call the police notify your manager and she/he can take it from there. (I did call the police, this took care of the issue. The apartment has a duty to respond to noise complaints. With a staff security detail, noise complaints should be swiftly dealt with).
The grounds are always trashed due to rude tenants. **I have to agree on this one. Not as far as agreeing to the grounds being trashed but some people are just lazy lazy lazy. They throw it down and expect others to have to pick it up.
My car has been hit once already by some idiot who parked too close. **This happens in apartment lots, bank lots, shopping center lots. Why should this property take a bad review when it happens everywhere. This is what CAR INSURANCE is for! (Insurance won't cover door dings. Besides, I still have to pay my deductable. My car wasn't touched on campus at MSU, yet at Melrose it got the crap beat out of it. Why can't people watch where they put their freakin cars or perhaps quit driving home so drunk).
The front office people are all complete idiots, save Tina the office Manager. **I would like to see you step to a managements position. Then you can listen to all the little snot nosed, rude and obnoxious kids that think everything should be handed to them on a silver platter because thats the way mommy and daddy did it. (as the recent news has addressed this issue, I think the others who spoke down of the office management are correct. Bills were never right, even on move out. I've run a business before and I never had an issue because I gave my customers what they wanted. Funny how that works).
Do not live here. The convienances are not worth the hassle of this place falling apart on you. **WARNING...Do not live next to this guy!! He still thinks he's five (5). (warning: do not rent from this -------. He seems to think property managers and landlords run EL. Bad news buddy, there's a flood of housing in the area. That spells buyers market for most people who know something of economics).
