My wife and I moved into the Aspens about 18 months ago and now have just our first baby! We loved the Aspens. We were the first ones to ever live in our apartment so everything was BRAND new, the pool is like a very nice resort hotel and I was able to drop my gym membership because they have a huge gym with brand new equiptment. We found the Aspens office staff great, very nice and most importantly treated us very fairly when we moved out regarding damage and cleaning fees. When we voved from Texas, our last management company charged us for such picky, stupid things. At the Aspens, they really were VERY fair. We opted to do a lot of the cleaning ourselves and got all of our deposit very quickly.

We had to move to Cottonwood Ranch, which is right around the corner, because The Aspens had no 2 bedroom apartments and we needed more space with our baby and my wife's mom has been coming out a lot.

Cottonwood is a lot like The Aspens. I think the grounds are nicer at Cottonwood but my wife thinks The Aspens is better. Anyway, both are nice. The nicest we've found in Albuquerque we've found.

The apartments are also very similar. Our 2 bedroom is very roomy and we had our choice between bedroom on either side of the living room or both on the same side of the living room, which is what we choose. Cottonwood's rents I think are maybe $10 a month cheaper that The Aspens, but The Aspens is a year or two newer. The Aspens has a better gym, but I think the pool at Cottonwood Ranch is even nicer than The Aspens. Both have full court Basketball, and sand volleyball (they were just putting this in at The Aspens when we left).

Cottonwoods location is a block closer to the mall.

The office people were fine. The office was a bit hectic but I don't see how anyone could complain about the people who work there. We went to see two other places before deciding to move to Cottonwood, and only at Cottonwood were we greeted nicely. One place made us wait 10 minutes before anyone even said hello!

My wife is the kind of person that has to clean up a hotel after the maid comes and cleans it and even she was impressed with the condition of our new apartment. Our kitchen even came with a small color TV!

Both Cottonwood Ranch and The Aspens seem quite full which probably says more than all the reviews here. If I had to choose between Cottonwood Ranch and The Aspens, I would save the $10 a month and choose Cottonwood. My wife says she prefered The Aspens. Anyway, if you see a couple pushing a stoller at Cottonwood and the baby is named Taylor, please say hello.
