A Wonderful Place to Call Home...

I have lived at Cottonwood Ranch Apartments for almost a year now, having moved to Albuquerque as one of the contractors of Intel's new fab.
My wife and I spend a day looking at apartments, on both the east and west side of the Rio Grande. The Eastside is more established but on the westside everything is new - new mall, restaurants, Best Buys, bookstores, movie theatres, everything. And it was much closer to work - much closer - so we decided on the westside and looked at several apartments there. A few were nice but anyone could see that Cottonwood ranch was by far the best. My wife is from Colorado and all the large pinetrees made her feel right at home.

The apartment is new (I think one person had lived in ours before we moved in) and so I cannot really comment on the office staff because we have never needed to call them. We moved here from California and it is a joke how much cheaper it is live here. We are in a 2 bedroom apartment and are now paying $810 a month. In California this apartment would be $1800 a month easy. It came with a television in the kitchen, painted accent walls, tall ceilings, big bathrooms, plenty of closet space, and (my wife's favorite) gas cooking. We just got our first rent increase and it was $10. And our apartment came with cable tv (mtv, cnn, etc.) so we did not have pay installation or a monthly fee to the cable company.

My work in Albuquerque is almost done and soon we are off to Portland. We will miss Albuquerque and Cottonwood Ranch. I went to check out Portland last week and apartments there are MUCH more expensive and not nearly as nice.

BTW, we were very safe at Cottonwood. They have security at night (the only apartment house that does, I think). The guy's name is Wayne. He is very concientious. I never worried about my wife coming home late from her job - ever. Never had a car broken into, never saw anything around here that would make us feel otherwise during our entire stay.

Cottonwood has been a great place to live. I would reccommend it highly to anyone.
