First of all, I think that the management staff of these apartments need to practice their customer service/people skills with the residents; especially those that have lived there for more than a year. I moved there in 2006 when I was under Section 8 on a 1 year lease. The apartment manager was not there to sign the lease, but the leasing agent who was there at that time did sign it. My rent was increased in July 2007 and I signed a lease renewal form at the end of June 2007 which was offered to me by management. We (my husband and I) have been paying the full amount of rent plus electricity every month for the last seven months without the help of Section 8. My Section 8 contract will end at the end of this month and now the apartment manager is assuming that we don't qualify to live there even though we're both working and make enough money to cover the rent. She's trying to get me to terminate my lease by giving a 30 day notice, so I decided to get legal help and was advised not to fill out or sign anything because what they're doing is totally illegal and I'm not about to let someone like that intimidate or step all over us just because we don't live up to her standards. The apaertment manager and staff of North Park Apartments are very rude & unfriendly once you get to know how they are and won't admit to their faults until someone like myself does something about it. I do have the right to stay here until my lease runs out; and when I do move out I won't even think about recommending this place to anyone because I'll be out of New Mexico for good!
